We often get asked "What is the difference between our 1.0 and 2.0 diapers?"
1.0 was our initial line of diapers which was sized slightly big, to fit babies from 7-17 kgs. Then we realised that for most babies in India, a slightly smaller diaper would fit better and also suffice until potty training. Thus we decided to make the 2.0 version, which fits babies from 5-15 kgs.
The thumb rule for deciding which diaper to get for your child is this:
"If your child weighs 12 kgs or more, get a 1.0 diaper. If your child weighs 10-12 kgs, and you are more than a year away from potty training, get a 1.0 diaper. In all other cases, get a 2.0 diaper."
Below is a photo comparison done by Krishna Priya Praveen, a dear customer. Her baby is 9 months old at the time of this post. The Cat me if you can print is a 1.0 version, while Bubbles is a 2.0 version.
Comparison of a fully prepped 1.0 with a brand new 2.0, almost similar in thickness. Once prepped, am sure the 2.0 will appear trimmer.
The body of the 2.0 is a tad bit shorter than the 1.0, to be exact, one snap space shorter in length/height.
The practical implication of the above difference that I have noticed after using both is that the 1.0 has a teeny bit more fabric excess at he crotch area as circled as compared to the 2.0 at the same rise setting. So, this would just mean there is a little bit more room in the diaper for a larger baby to feel more comfortable. Hence, a 1.0 is suggested to be a better option for a larger/an older baby
The two versions are similar in all other aspects including fabrics used, size of the insert and construction.
Hope this post helps you to figure out which version would suit your baby better!
